The Namibian (Windhoek)

ELEVEN Arrows coach Johannes 'Congo' Hindjou says his charges are fired up and ready to take on the mighty 'Amakhosi' in their 'once in a lifetime' international friendly this weekend.

Speaking to The Namibian Sport from the team's Walvisbay base yesterday, Hindjou said the opportunity to play against a team of South African premiership powerhouse Kaizer Chief's calibre does not afford itself very often.

"For me as a young coach, it's something great. The guys are in a good mood and are ready to take on the mighty Amakhosi," Hindjou said ahead Saturday's highly anticipated pre-season match. "It only happens once in a players' career."

Hindjou also said he is open to the "good" possibility that one or two of his players might catch the eye of the Chiefs technical team.

"If Chiefs can make an offer one or two players then it will be good for the players career.

"It will also be good for the club from a financial point of view.

Hindjou and his 24-man assemble have been in camp for close to three weeks now, during which time he has been plotting the teams approach to the game.

"These guys have been training very hard for a long time now.

"They will give Kaizer Chiefs a run for their money. It is a friendly but at the same time it is a big game," Hindjou enthused.

Arrows will drive to the capital on Thursday morning before playing a warm-up match against the fitness challenged Brave Warriors. Kaizer Chiefs will also descend on Windhoek from Johannesburg in the afternoon on the same day and will have an open training session where fans will get the chance to see their favourite stars up close and also get autographs.

The Soweto giants are expected to have the world cup trio of acrobatic shot stopper Itumeleng Khune, winger Siphiwe Tshabalala and midfield orchestrator Reneilwe Letsholonyane in the ranks.
